ABOUT US

So You Wanna Sell A Script, was founded by Paul Harvey and Angela Bond, as a direct result of their close contact with writers over their years in the film business. Writers had often expressed their disappointment and frustration in the current Hollywood system and other sites had not managed to provide them with as much feedback as they needed, or an extensive variety of services all under one roof. All this served to demonstrate that So You Wanna Sell A Script was an invaluable service that was past due.

Although other sites exist that offer writers coverage and development services and others yet that offer a means of selling a writer's work, both Paul and Angela were keen to bring everything under one roof, where daily screening would take place and the integrity of the site would be maintained.

So You Wanna Sell A Script also decided to offer a free service that is without parallel. If a writer's script receives a "recommend" or "consider" from our readers, then they are placed in our Script Marketplace and Hollywood Bugle, for six months free of charge. In addition, if they received a "recommend", we get on the phone to all our contacts and do everything possible to get their script sold - at the very least, we hope to get them an agent. We receive nothing for this, no hidden commission, no fees from the writer or anyone else. It's up to the writer if they want to take advantage of this - there's no obligation on their part. A lot of people have asked us why we're offering this, when we receive nothing from it and the answer is simple - why not? We have the resources, the ability and the contacts and frankly it's a great feeling to discover new talent - we can't promise anything, but the effort we put in will be 100%.

So You Wanna Sell A Script does not take commission for any script or writer's work sold as a result of using this site - but feel free to write a Thank You note!

So You Wanna Sell A Script is overseen by a dedicated workforce that has worked within Hollywood and the film business for years. Extensive research took place amongst writers and film executives in order to create this site and its supportive community. We hope you enjoy using it.

We want this site to work, and most importantly, work for you. Therefore, we are always interested to hear of any way in which we can improve our service and/or add new services that you would like to see offered. You are welcome to contact us to give us your thoughts.

So You Wanna's principals:

Angela Bond has been in the film business for over twelve years and possesses expertise in many departments. She has spent the last four as VP of Development, most recently with Original Voices. Angela is the co-owner of Fresh Films set up in 2001. You can email Angela directly from our contact page.

Paul Harvey has been in the film business since 1996. He decided to become an independent producer and setup Fresh Films in 2001 with Angela Bond. Prior to that, he served as the President of Production for Original Voices, Inc, the company responsible for indie hits such as The Opposite of Sex and Big Night. You can email Paul directly from our contact page.

So You Wanna's contributors:

David Trier has worked in development as a script analyst at several independent production companies. He also lives his life vicariously through film, unable to establish meaningful relationships with the living. He proudly takes credit for coming up with the idea to flash a series of pictures in a consecutive order in conjunction with a series of sounds - a concept laymen refer to as the "movie" or "film". You can email David directly at truemoviereview@sbcglobal.net. For more of David Trier's reviews, visit True Movie Review.

Dr. Scott. Dr. Scott is not a "Doctor" in the traditional sense, nor does he play one on TV. Born somewhere deep within the bowels of the Earth, Dr. Scott ascended to the surface to treat all those who would be his patients with film-related medicines (He's also a journalism student). Dr. Scott is wanted in 37 of our 50 states, is madly in love with Angelina Jolie, and likes to express open contempt for George Lucas. Make an appointment with The Doctor by emailing Until_Dark@yahoo.com, or visit his unofficial office at Dr. Scott's Office.

David Haviland is a script analyst and film reviewer, and is currently working on his first feature-length screenplay; a heart-warming romance pitched somewhere between Brief Encounter and Sullivan's Travels. His favourite films are Secrets And Lies, Back To The Future, and The Apartment, and you can email him at davehaviland@hotmail.com.

Blake French. For five years, Blake has served as a film and theater writer for a variety of newspapers, magazines, and online publications (including Filmcritic.com). Several producers and agents have expressed interest in his dramatic writing, and Paul Bodner, author of The Lemonade Stand series, recently chose his essay (out of 7,000) to be published in his latest book. Blake also acts and models professionally and has appeared in various commercials and feature films. He currently resides in suburban Detroit, and is a 2002 inductee into The Online Film Critics Society.

Johnny Bravo is a Hollywood screenwriter who enjoys bashing movies that happen to fall prey to his viewing. You can email Johnny directly at johnnyb971@hotmail.com.

Jammy Dodger is a Hollywood screenwriter who loves chiming in on the latest films. You can email Jammy directly at jammydodger@soyouwannasellascript.com.

Although So You Wanna Sell A Script is a separate entity from Fresh Films, it is nonetheless able to take advantage of the excellent contacts and channels of communication that Fresh Films possesses.

Fresh Films maintains its open door policy of accepting submission queries by both e-mail and snail mail and often requests intriguing scripts for possible production through this method. Fresh Films, like any bona fide production company, will not charge a reading fee and will not suggest any script services to the writer. Please understand that Fresh Films only reads chosen scripts in order to consider them for possible production and not to provide any script service and/or coverage to the writer.

If you have any confusion about how the two companies operate and would like your questions answered before using this site, please contact us.
